With their name seemingly attached to almost every player, it looks as if the Dodgers are ready for a busy offseason. J.T. RealmutoWith the likely departure of Yasmani Grandal, one of the Dodgers’ biggest needs is finding a catcher. It’s not every day the best player at a certain position is available via trade, and LA has been linked to one the entire offseason. Realmuto, 27, is regarded as the best catcher in all of baseball. He led all catchers in 2018 with a WAR of 4.3. In only 125 games, he hit 21 home runs and drove in 74, both career-highs. The Marlins know how good of a player they have, and it shows in their asking price for him. There’s no question that the Dodgers desperately want Realmuto. He’d be an instant upgrade, and another solid bat added in the lineup. However, it’s unclear if LA will meet Miami’s steep asking price. The Dodgers are high on Bellinger moving forward http://www.marinersfanproshop.com/authentic-edgar-martinez-jersey , so not sure if they would consider moving him. There’s no doubt that LA has the farm pieces to acquire Realmuto, it’s just a matter of them agreeing to include a major-leaguer as well, whether that be a Bellinger or a Yasiel Puig. The Dodgers have two things going for them in their favor. One, Miami reportedly wants to ship Realmuto outside of their division. With the other heavy suitor being the Mets, LA may have an upper-hand advantage. Two, It’s been reported that Miami’s asking price is decreasing by day, as they hope to dish him out soon.Though, with two highly touted catchers in the Dodgers farm system already, it raises the question on whether or not Realmuto is worth the price. Nick Castellanos With all the news surrounding Bryce Harper, the Dodgers have expressed interest in another outfielder. With Castellanos not even a top their list, it’s likely a deal never happens. However, this is something to take a look at. Should the Dodgers acquire a Realmuto or a Corey Kluber, they’d likely be sending away one or two of their starting outfielders, thus opening up a spot. As mentioned, the Dodgers will be strongly pushing towards signing Harper. Though, should the two teams not reach an agreement, Castellanos would be a great addition. Only 26 years old, Castellanos has quietly been one of the better outfielders in baseball over the last three seasons. Last year, he hit a career-best .298, to go along with 23 home runs and 89 RBI. Over the last three seasons http://www.marinersfanproshop.com/authentic-edgar-martinez-jersey , he’s hit .285/.336/.495/.831. On top of that, he has 67 homers and 248 RBI. Since 2016, Castellanos is one of 14 players with those numbers. Joe KellyYesterday, I talked about the Dodgers making a push towards a reliever. Today, there is news of LA making what looks like a stronger push towards signing another one. According to Rob Bradford of WEEI.com, the Dodgers “may be putting the biggest push” towards signing Joe Kelly. Kelly, an LA native, was born in Anaheim, played high-school ball at Corona High School and played collegiate ball at the University of Riverside. He had a bit of a down year in 2018, posting an ERA of 4.39 and a WHIP of 1.35. However, he was practically lights out during Boston’s World Series push. In nine games, the 30-year-old had an ERA of 0.79, while opponents only hit .186 off of him. He had 13 strikeouts in 11 1鈦? innings of work. The Dodgers know him too well, as they struggled against him in the World Series. Kelly threw six innings of shutout ball against LA, while striking out 10. Final newsWith the Dodgers being drawn to a plethora of players, there’s some that might be on the way out. With Bellinger and Puig being brought up in deals, there are other names that might be shipped out should a trade take place. Definitely a lot to keep an eye on as the winter meetings continue. Bryce Harper has reportedly two teams that are willing to give him the length of contract that he desires, which is a length of ten years. Those two teams are reportedly the Philadelphia Phillies and the Chicago White Sox. According to reports, both teams are willing to give Harper a contract that runs through ten seasons.Harper turned down a ten-year deal worth $300 million from the Washington Nationals before last season concluded. But because of his large demands, there have been few teams that have been able to offer him a serious offer.advertisingA person close to Bryce Harper tells @JSalisburyNBCS that a face-to-face meeting between Harper and Phillies officials is being planned for 鈥渢he next week or so.鈥滺ere's all the details Jay Buhner Jersey , including location.https://t.co/LF96kObI6x— NBC Sports Philadelphia (@NBCSPhilly) January 2, 2019The six-time All-Star is one of the most coveted free agents out on the open market. Along with Manny Machado, Harper has been seeking a massive deal that would likely last around a decade.Although, Harper hasn't visited any teams own his own that are interested in signing him yet. But, now there are multiple reports confirming that Harper will meet with representatives from the Phillies, sometime in the next week or so.According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, the 26-year-old is ready to wait as long as he can for an offer that he desires. Even if that means waiting just before pitchers and catchers report next month. Multiple teams would reportedly be interested in Harper if his price were to drop.advertisingThe Los Angeles Dodgers are one of those teams interested in Harper if that were to happen. They're reportedly only willing to pay half of what Harper wants. But, clearly, Harper is confident that he can get exactly what he wants. NBC SportsWhat's a little confusing is that the White Sox haven't made any plans as of yet to met with Harper again about a potential deal. Both the Phillies and the White Sox met with Harper's agent before the Winter Meetings began in early December. But, neither team was able to sign Harper to a contract then. Yet, the Phillies have made plans for another sit-down with Harper, and the White Sox haven't. Which could mean the Phillies could be the more attractive destination spot for Harper.advertisingThe White Sox or the Phillies would both greatly improve by signing the former-MVP. But, it sounds like the Phillies have the advantage over the White Sox, with their meeting scheduled for some time next week. This report means that the race for Harper is down to just two teams. Both the White Sox and the Phillies would be attractive destinations for him. But, because the Phillies have a better chance at competing for the World Series next season. That could likely sway Harper to signing with them over the White Sox. However, it does sound like the wait could pay off for him. With both teams willing to give him exactly the type of contract that he desires.
